What to wear for your engagement photos?

What to wear for your engagement photos? I get this question often so I am offering my thoughts on the subject. Engagement photos can show your personal style and your personality as a couple. Engagement pictures are the kind of images you’ll want to decorate your home with and send out as gifts to moms, aunts and grandmas. Many brides and grooms creatively use their engagement photos for save the date cards, a guest signing book and decoration. So what to wear for your engagement photos?!

  1. Pick a color palette. Ideas: colors of your wedding or perhaps colors that would compliment the decor in your home.
  2. Pick a theme. Do you want to be formal? Bohemian Chic? Classic?
  3. Wear accessories, jewelry and headbands. Try to layer with a sweater or scarf, guys can wear a casual jacket this can help add the final touch to a look.
  4. Avoid wearing the same colors, you don’t want to match each other (trust me on this one) Find a palette that works together.

Pinterest can be a great resource for this! Below are a few examples of palettes you can work with from Pinterest! Let me know your thoughts on this or tips! I would love to hear from you!

  • Melanie Atkinson - I agree. No matchy matchy. These color balances are really beautiful, all of them! I would definitely say keep the clothing to a style you’re already comfortable with too. Trying to pull off a new style for yourself just because it’s “IN” doesn’t make it amazing. You don’t want to look back on your pictures and say, “What was I thinking?!!!”ReplyCancel
